Heart is needed with John Kuhlmann

John Kuhlmann is Co-founder and President of Heartland Logistics Group, LLC. Headquartered out of Lenexa, Kansas. 

After attending Kansas State University, John started his career with C.H. Robinson (CHR) where he spent 8 years learning the transportation and logistics industry. In 2015, taking his knowledge from CHR he left and went to Agforce Transport Services, where he spent 5 more years leading a sales team and in 2019, started a full-scale agricultural logistics division. It was during this time that he saw there was a need for more focused transportation and logistics solutions specific to the agriculture industry. 

Most companies like CHR and Agforce primarily operate on the distribution side of the supply chain. He saw a need to build out a complimentary solution that would give them a competitive advantage.

In 2020, during the global pandemic with worldwide shutdowns, John and his business partner, Scott Erickson, took the leap of faith and started their own company to bridge the gap they saw in the industry. Heartland Logistics Group, LLC was created as a full service 3PL with the idea to build a total supply chain solution while delivering the best experience to customers, carriers, and employees. Founded in faith the company grew from 1 employee to 24 employees by the end of its first year, servicing 190 clients, and moving 10,000 shipments: generating over $20 million in revenue. In its second year, Heartland successfully supported over 240 clients, grew to 45 team members, 29,000 shipments, and over $52 million generated in revenue.
